I know I've been MIA, and I apologize to the select few who actually read/check my blog (if any at all; no one comments). I've been in school and working and staying afloat, but things should get better. The semester is nearly over. (YES!!!). Also, my Spring break is all next week. Hallelujah.

I have an iPad 2. (YAY!!!) I also have this app that I'm trying out called Blogsy, but so far it's been buggy, but I'm gonna make it work. I'm currently writing this from said new toy and app. Hopefully there will be more blog entries.

Also (!!!), I'm shooting a wedding tomorrow! Wish me luck!

Thanksgiving 2010

Hello! And Happy New Year to all! While other photographers are blogging about they’re goals for this year and their experiences last year, I’m still blogging photos from last year.

Thanksgiving was spent at the Pagan house. Most of the time was spent eating. And playing Apples to Apples, which is a popular games in our house.

My cousin, Justin, spent his time drawing, and he’s GOOD.

So, there it is. Now, I have to go. I’m in the kitchen and these onions are murderous.

Family Portrait & Mobile Access

My cousin approached me, maybe 2 weeks ago, asking if I could photograph a Pagan/Frausto family for a Christmas photo. I said “Of course!” It would be my first family portrait. I was excited. However, this day got pushed at least 3 times. It was always something. Finally (finally!!!), we managed to get together. All of us on Christmas Eve. We had to wait until midnight anyway to open gifts, so at around 8pm or later, we did the photo shoot. OMG. It was fun, but by the end of it, we were tired (and a bit delirious). This will hopefully be a yearly thing.

Also (!!!), in looking for something else entirely online, I discovered that Blogger now offers a mobile version for my blog! YAY!!!!! So, that basically means you (and I) have no excuse not to check on my blog. =) I’m inspired!

New Toy + the nephew

So, I recently purchased a new toy, the Ray Flash Ring Flash. I had heard a lot about it, and decided to purchase it, being that it was fairly inexpensive, as far as Ring Flashes usually go. I’m still learning how to use it, but I am happy so far. When it arrived (a day late), I bolted out of the room and into the kitchen to open it with my nephew close behind me. Now, I’ve often said this, and I mean it; My nephew just may inherit my photo gear when I die. Honest to God. He loves my “cheese” (as he calls it) and always wants a turn.

(Sidebar: I recently tried photographing him for his 2nd birthday, and it was disastrous. I’ve never had a more hard time with him. However, I learned that in order to calm him, I get a turn, then he gets a turn. =_=)

Anyway, I’ve been looking for a good quality video/slideshow program for windows, and until I find one, here’s a video of the photos from the shoot. (via www.animoto.com)

10.08.10 – Bethel Youth Cafe Night!

Hey guys! Progress! This event was only 2 nights ago! =) Anyway, I barely made it to this because I napped through the first 30 minutes or so of it. (In my defense, I was up super early for work that morning…) However, thank God I live above the church now! I came to, got dressed, grabbed the camera, and made a run for it. And boy am I glad! This was something new for the youth, and I wasn’t sure how they’d react, let alone if they’d participate, but they did! And it was fun! Here’s some shots.

This is the first time I've heard this song (watching Glee), and I love that this show exposes people to different kinds of music from different genres and times. This song, apparently, is from Dreamgirls, which I still haven't seen (it's on my list), and I love it. It's on repeat. It speaks to me. It speaks of me and for me. Right now. I love it. "Listen..."

Bethany turns 1!

I’ve abandoned the blog a bit. I’m sorry! But I PROMISE I’ll make up for it! I haven’t stopped shooting, which means there’s plenty of things to blog about, but my life has gotten crazy since I last blogged. But alas, that’s another blog for another day.

Just got back from California, were I was shooting the AJAIC Distrito Oeste (West District) youth retreat and crusade/campaign. About 10 days in California. I’ll blog more within the week, when I have a couple of photos to share, but I will say, AJAIC DO captured my heart to the extent that I cried when the plane took off. I’m truly in love with that beautiful state.

Also, I JUST got my official domain for the blog! Instead of ~~http://anniephoto-blog.blogspot.com~~, my blog is now www.anniephotoblog.com! However (!!!), if you were to search, type or get to the former domain (from my business card for example), you will forwarded to the blog like normal. =)

For now, just to prove I’ve been shooting, a while ago, I photographed a friend’s daughter’s 1st birthday. This should keep you occupied until I return!

06.20.10 – Hawaii and more…

It’s been a while. More than a month actually. I’ve been training at work in another area and am currently at their mercy (and I mean that nicely). Also, my hard drive isn’t playing nice. (Please pray.) But anyway…

Yes. He went there. This kid is SOOOO cute, and although his parents dress him and picks his clothes, it’s safe to say he rocks it. =) Here’s what he wore Sunday. (PS: I’ve noticed I always take his shoes off. I love babies’ feet!!!)

Yeah, this is a constant occurrence, him going through my camera bag. He knows the basic functions of my flash, Expodisc and rocket cleaner thingy.

Finally. Ok, so for those of you who didn’t know, my laptop died temporarily. Cause of death was viruses, as in more than one. But it’s been resuscitated for a couple of weeks now. Then I couldn’t access my hard drive (with all the photos). :::cue heart attack::: Turns out I needed to reinstall the drivers for it and blah blah blah…

Anyway, I’m back. And I shot quite a few events that I’ll be posting. I’m also shooting a wedding soon. =) So, a lot going on.

01.01.10 – New Year’s Day photo-shoot!

About an hour or so after ringing in the new year at church, my friends and I started heading upstairs to gather our things &/or chat. I’d told two of the girls that I want a shot of their outfits (because they looked amazing), and had them stand in front a a white wall (which turned out to be a tad spotty & dirty). Anyway, my point is that little by little, different people jumped in and then we found a blow drier and basically things got crazy.

Here’s the blow drier shot. Vanessa brought her blow drier for another girl to use, and when I saw it I HAD to put it to good use. Then Mom told Jr, who held it for Vanessa to switch places. My favorite shots of this shoot!!! =)

I just want to take the time to welcome you to the 2010 chapter of my blog. I wasn't gonna say this, but my goal is to post photo-of-the-week. I'm gonna check back soon to see how I'm doing. =)

I welcomed the new year at church with friends, family, and loved ones. We went downstairs to eat a bit and went up to the lobby. There's a white wall right before you walk into the sanctuary, that of which I used for a make-shift photo-shoot. The first photo-shoot (of hopefully many more to come) of the year.

I learned that I know what I want, it just gets lost in translation. Lol. I'm working on them now, so they should be up soon. =)

09.26.09 – Family Dinner

So, as you may recall, my beautiful grandmother passed away. After catching up with family during the funeral, we decided that we needed to get together at least once a month. So, on September 26th, we had our first ever reunion. Now, this isn’t even 1/3 of our family, but it was fun nonetheless. =)

So these are some shots of our day…

Now, my aunt has this AMAZING red hallway. I couldn’t resist. Here’s a few of my favorite shots. It’s actually really narrow, but I’m convinced that every wall in my home is going to be some thick, rich color. =)

09.06.09 Babies!

Ok. So it’s been a LONG while since I’ve posted. Life’s been crazy. I have my poor baby (camera) abandoned. Lol. My editing software too. So, since I’m off today, I decided to step on it and try to get as many events out as possible. I’m only handling latest things. Unless you remember something or some shot I got from months ago that you haven’t seen, I’m not going to go through those. Not enough time. When I catch up with the more current ones, then I’ll handle the past. =)

That being said, on this day, I ran into so many kids, it was ridiculous. Gorgeous, tiny babies- and a toddler. Here they are. Everyone with me: “AWE!!!” =)

=) Back in July I went to the AIC International Convention in New York. I went to the Convention in 2006 out of convenience (since it was held in Chicago), so needless to say I was excited to get away from it all and be with my fellow AICeños. These are most of the photos, with the exception of the last Sunday (Installation and Ordination).

You will notice that my logo/watermark is now in the middle. Smack dab in the middle. I’ve already explained why that is in my previous post ( >>>Click Here to catch yourself up<<< ). This is the way it has to be. =/

Been way too long...

Hey guys!!! Its' been way too long. I know. I promise to post more photos soon. I really am working on it. But I have great news: I'm back in school! *pumps fists in excitement* I ALSO am in a Beginning Photography class. Some would say that I don't need it, but I beg to differ. =) I need all the help I can get. Now, it's a film class (hence "Beginning"), but I know there's a way to scan negatives and post. So I'll try to get ahold of that as I start shooting.

I plan on posting New York trip/International Convention photos soon, as well as camp. Two things on that though:
1). They will most likely NOT be up by tomorrow, or the day after, or the day after. -_- Rest assured- I will let you know when the photos are posted.

2). The watermark will be in the middle of the photo. On 3 occasions I've seen my photos "edited" and place under folders or albums as their own = Not cool. I'm glad you think I'm great, but don't insult me. For those innocent bystanders: Because the perps used photos that were not of themselves, I am forced to do this to ALL photos. My logo will be transparent, but noticeable.

I'm sorry but that's just the way it's going to be.

RIP Joel Chung

As I’m writing this, I hear thunder rolling and the rain falling and I can’t help but smile. I remember when I was younger I was told many different stories of why it rains and why there is thunder, but the one that stuck the most is that God was having a party. And as this day goes on, and the news settles into each and every one of our minds, that “reason” seems fitting- God is welcoming Joel home.

Joel Chung died on last night around 8:30 PM after being struck by a train. Some say he saw the train, but miscalculated its distance. Either way one fact remains- he was listening to music. Knowing Joel for the brief time I did, I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that he was singing and praising God.

As I spoke to friends and family, I was reminded of an occasion where Joel, at my church, gave his explanation of the difference between the worship of angels and us, God’s creation. He brought the house down! Then he sang. Joel had such a passion for Christ and the Gospel. And I’ll never forget him and how he touched my life.

One thing is clear; Life’s way too short to play around. Joel’s mission on this earth was complete, God took him Home, and he will one day give us the grand tour of Heaven.

Stay strong. Be blessed. Rejoice- we’re all homeward-bound.

05.17.09 – Jariel’s Presentation

Oh how time flies. Nearly six months ago Jariel Isai Frausto was born. This past Sunday, we presented him to the Lord. He…well, see for yourself. Poor thing had NO idea what was going on. This little guy had NEVER been in a suit before, and after Sunday probably will never be in a suit again. He hates being hot and had 3 layers on. Get it? Good.

I had SO much fun in the shoot. I tried to limit my favorites, but whatever. This is what my blog is for right? To showcase?

After it all...

Just an update from on the rode- Liberación was incredible. Now, I was
running around like crazy, so I unfortunately could not enjoy the
preaching as I would have wanted, but I'll buy the DVD when it's out.

About the photos, we'll see how they turn out. I tried my best for my
first time at an event this huge. I learned a lot and met a lot of
people- Juanpa and Lenny for example. (Muchachos- fue un placer
conocerlos...por si acaso están leendo esto.)

I'll keep you guys updated on the photos. They have to go through the
right channels first, but you WILL see them.

So today is Mommy’s Day. We spent the morning at church and later I caught up with a friend, Vanessa, whom I hadn’t seen since New Year’s, whom became a mommy about a month and a half ago. So, naturally, I gushed over the baby and shot her. I also shot Vanessa and another first time happy mommy, Leyna with their babies. =}

For the record. I finished editing these about a month ago, I just didn’t export (as a jpeg) and resize/watermark, etc.

Anyways, I’d like to thank Vida for letting me borrow her (A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.) camera for these. It was (heavy and) so much fun, that I decided I knew what my next HUGE purchase would be one of those cameras ohmygoodness. =]

Happy Resurrection Day!

So. My mom, cousin, and younger aunt are back from PR (thank God), but my oldest aunt still in PR caring for my grandmother (who is stronger and out of the hospital). She wanted to see photos of her family today so I gathered them (which was harder than it looks) and I edited all of today’s photos at the same time. And I actually finished them!!!

Ok so there were only 100 photos and a lot of them were duplicates, but the point is- I finished them. Ok?! =)

Ok, so…yeah.

I’ve been on this editing spree. Literally, I don’t even WANT to know how many photos I’ve edited thus far (regarding this past week or so).

Basically, I’m just going to post a few photos from two events. One is a concert that I shot about a month ago or so. The other event was AJAIC DMO’s servicio de apertura (convention commencement service). Yes. Already. I know I know I know, so please just pick your jaw off the floor. I received instruction from my mentor, Vida, to import and edit that same night. I ended up getting home at around 2:30ish in the morning (Saturday), and stood up editing ‘til 4 in the morning when my laptop died on me. Only to wake up 4 hours later. =|

But it was well worth it. I should have Saturday’s convention photos done by Sunday night-ish.

I’d like to thanks Vida ahead of time for allowing me the use of her AWESOME camera for the Saturday photos.

So, last Friday I was off and went with my mom to my aunt’s house (above our church) to show/hang/prepare for a kid’s Safari-Themed Sleepover. Needles to say, most of my time was spent shooting my nephew. =]

I like how they came out.

So my family was driving to the district offices and my dad, instead of using his own knowledge, he listened to his lady-voiced GPS.

It took 45 minutes.

Lol. I SHOULD have taken about 15 or 20. So, needless to say, I was BORED of my mind and decided to play with my camera. Here’s the result.

Ok, so, I’ve been editing like CRAZY! I still have about 8 more days (seven events or so) to edit. I HOPE to be done by Sunday. That of course means that I’ll be dead to the world, but hey, what can you do.

We also have conference coming up. Fast. I have to do TONS of work for that.

Ok, so give me 2 more weeks. After conference, all my photos, not including those of the conference itself, will be edited and up. That’s my goal. =]

Here’s some photos from 02.08.09, after the service. I had stole Leyna’s son (and even changed his poopy butt twice). I had so much fun. I don’t know about him…

I’m not even lying to you when I say that when this child falls asleep with Grandma, it’s to “The B-I-B-L-E song”. All truth. In seconds it’s lights out for him.

He didn’t sleep for long. I stole him. =]

I have no idea what he was doing here.

So, I shot tons of photos of my BF yesterday. Here’s some more.

He and Mommy woke up at the same time. He was hungry and tired of my taking photos.

Mommy tried to comfort him.

Told you he was tired.

“Um, hello? I’m getting my diaper changed? You wanna give me some space?!”

Giggling for Mommy.

Again.

“Sorry, but this is Mommy’s.”

Daddy’s little boy.

And then…finally…he gave Mommy the most gorgeous smile ever!!!

Coldest days ever!!!

I’m at my aunt’s house watching my BF sleep. He’s gorgeous. And he’s ALL mine! I obviously have to share him with his family (Mom and Dad and etc…), but other then that…=)

January 1st - Shopping

My Bethelian girls and I went shopping January 1st in downtown. We were SUPPOSED to go earlier…say 10am-ish? But No. We had to wait. And while we waited more girls woke up and were added to the list. We ended up getting there close to 4:30. PM. Needless to say that I didn’t get anything, but some, if not most, of the girls did, and we all had a BLAST!

I obviously didn’t take my flash. Most of the time I didn’t even have the camera. The girls camera-napped me at one point. You can see which is mine. ;) [I still love you ladies.]

For the record. We DIDN’T get lost. We were just laughing so hard, we forgot to check which way we were going. That’s all.
